Galatasaray appear to be catching a break in their quest for a top-four finish in Group C of the EuroLeague Women with Spain center Sancho Lyttle of Halcon Avenida not expected to play against them on Wednesday night in Istanbul.
Lyttle, a member of the All-Star Five at the FIBA World Championship, suffered a hamstring injury in the Copa de la Reina at the weekend and is doubtful for the game.
Avenida coach Lucas Mondelo does expect to have Australia international Belinda Snell, who hurt her knee in the Copa.
The Salamanca club, which blew an early 18-point advantage and lost to Rivas Ecopolis in the semi-finals of the Copa on Saturday in Valencia, is 6-2 and top of Group C with two games remaining.
They beat Galatasaray (3-5) 86-59 in the first encounter in Spain back on November 17.
Gala have lost four of their last five games in Europe but still occupy fourth place ahead of VICI Aistes and Tarbes GB (both 3-5).
The Turkish team faces ZVVZ USK Prague next week.
With VICI Aistes and Tarbes squaring off in the last week, Gala know they must win one of their two remaining games to hold on to fourth place and advance to the play-offs.
