In the gold medal game at the Olympics, Australia's Penny Taylor and Team USA's Cappie Pondexter were adversaries.
Now the two are teammates at UMMC Ekaterinburg and if Wednesday's 92-62 thumping of Jolly JBS Sibenik in Croatia is anything to go by, they give the Russian team a mighty one-two punch.
Taylor had 18 points, six rebounds and four assists while ex-Fenerbahce star Pondexter poured in 10, dished out seven assists and pulled down eight boards.
Despite choosing to part with Taylor's close friend and Australia international playmaker Kristi Harrower, UMMC Ekaterinburg look as good, and deep as ever.
Sandrine Gruda also had 18 points while Agnieszka Bibrzycka scored 15, pulled down eight rebounds and handed out seven assists.
Laurent Buffard's team took command in the first quarter, opening up a 26-14 lead and extended that to 45-29 by half-time.
They pulled away for a decisive triumph over the final 20 minutes.
Jolly JBS Sibenik got 16 points from Constance Jinx in defeat.
