EuroLeague Women defending champions Ekaterinburg clinched top spot in Group A after their defeat of Italian side Carichieti in the final game of the Qualifying Round.

Carichieti and Blex Praha met in their penultimate EuroLeague Women game with just pride on the line. Neither team can make the play-offs, but Carichieti were certainly looking for revenge for their 61:57 loss in Prague.

The game was actually decided in the first quarter, even though it remained close until the end. Blex struggled in the opening period while Carichieti looked to Brazilian center Kelly Santos for their scoring punch.

Bourges did not have to expend too much energy to celebrate an easy victory over CariChieti. For the French team this was important to improve their third position for the final qualification of the competition.
