Martinoni Shines As Italy Take Two Out Of Three

Niccolò Martinoni headlines the list of Italians named in coach Stefano Sacripanti's final squad for the U20 European Championship in Rhodes, Greece.

The 2.02m Benetton Treviso ace had a couple of big games for the Italians as they won two of their three games at the Torneo Internazionale di Molfetta.

Martinoni poured in 15 points in an 82-69 victory over Israel and followed that up with 22 in an 88-73 triumph over Russia.

The Italians weren't able to ride the momentum to another win against Croatia, though, falling 77-76.

Italy squad for U20 European Championship for Men: David Reginald Cournooh, Stefano Crotta, Matteo Da Ros, Stefano Gentile, Niccolò Martinoni, Andrea Marusic, Tommaso Raspino, Paolo Rotondo, Roberto Rullo, Andrea Saccaggi, Daniele Sandri and Riccardo Truccolo.
