Turkey Outlast Serbia, Will Play For 5th Place

Turkey outlasted Serbia 72-66 in the Classification Games for the fifth through eight spots in the U20 European Championship Women 2009 in Gdynia, Poland.

The contest was a tight one for the entire fourty minutes with both teams shooting well and playing with passion.

Latvia Duo Come Up Big Against Petrovic-Less Serbia

Latvia's speed topped a Petrovic-less Serbia 89-71 in the Quarter-Final of the U20 European Championship 2009 in Gdynia, Poland.

Ainars Cukste's team provoked havoc in the Serbian ranks with a 1-2-2 three-quarters press and Serbia never found the solution.

Dabovic is leading the tournament in assists at 5.3 per game and ranks third on her team in scoring with over 13 points. Bogicevic, not to be outdone, is averaging almost 16 points, second only to team-mate Sonja Petrovic, to go along with 7.4 rebounds per contest.

Spain rode Alba Torrens to an 88-74 win over a tough Serbia to go into the Quarter-Finals of the U20 European Championship Women in Gdynia, Poland, with a perfect 5-0 record.

Serbia came out aggressive and had Spain reeling, even though they could not count on their star Sonja Petrovic who was out with a calf injury.
