Apoel routed Khimik 104-71 in the EuroChallenge on Tuesday night. Milan Dozet, who played in the Final Four last season with Proteas EKA AEL, led the Nicosia side with 29 points as they improved to 1-1 while Khimik fell to 0-2. The 30-year-old Dozet connected on four of six shots from long range with Apoel 11 of 25 as a team. Victory was never in doubt as Apoel stormed into a 27-17 lead by the end of the first quarter. At half-time, the hosts had a 57-38 stranglehold on proceedings. Brandon Heath had 18 points, Lewis Hopkins 17 and Gerben Van Dorpe 13 for Apoel. Khimik got 19 points from Darrell Mitchell and 14 from LaVell Blanchard. Both Mitchell and Blanchard were teammates of Dozet's last season at Proteas. |
