Serbia & Montenegro Celebrate Title

Hosts Serbia & Montenegro were crowned U18 men's champions of Europe on Sunday evening as they beat Turkey 78-61 in the final.

The home team never lost control of a match they dominated more or less from the outset and, although they never gave up, the Turks could never quite get back on terms.

Turkey To Play Serbia & Montenegro In Final

Hosts Serbia & Montenegro will play Turkey in Sunday's U18 European Championship Men final.

The home side dispatched Italy 77-64 in their semi-final in front of 6000 fans while the Turks edged Spain 78-77 in the other match.

Italy Survive French Scare

Italy earned their second win of the Quarter-Final Round at the Under-18 European Championship with an 83-81 victory against France.

The Italians held a substantial lead going into the final quarter and although France gave them a scare, they just managed to stay in front to virtually guarantee their place in the semi-finals following an 82-70 defeat of Latvia on Tuesday.

Italian star Luigi Datome is ready to guide his national team to glory in the Under-18 European
Championships in Belgrade.

The Montepaschi Siena forward, who inspired the Azzurrini to an 82-70 quarter-final win over Latvia on Tuesday with 24 points, seven rebounds and four steals, is confident Italy can go all the way.
