Ural Great Perm recorded a 112-73 win over BC Gala in a EuroCup Challenge match on Thursday to guarantee them top spot in Group H.

Ural then slowed up a little and allowed Gala to narrow the gap but a strong finish to the second quarter ensured the hosts had established a 23-point lead at the halfway point.

The third quarter followed the same pattern with Gala starting well but a 10-point run at the end of the period ensured Perm had the match in the bag.

Jasmin Hukic scored 11 points in that quarter alone for the victors.

With the game effectively won, both coaches allowed their bench players some playing time in the final quarter but Ural continued to extend their lead until the game ended at 112-73.

Game MVP Andrey Trushkin poured in 20 points for Ural Great Perm with Giedrius Kurtinaitis replying with 16 for the losers.

Trushkin said: "We won the first stage of the competition taking the first spot in our group.

"As for me personally, I felt that the coach trusted me today and I took full advantage of it and produced the goods."

Head coach Sharon Drucker said: "I am glad we did a good job by winning the first round of the EuroCup Challenge and taking the first spot in our group.

"We are looking now to our next games which we know are going to be tougher and tougher with each stage."

Gala head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis said: "I congratulate Ural Great, they played very strong well even though their coach used mostly his bench players."
