Germany and Hungary both lost their prestigious Division A status and will drop down a level after coming up short in Naples. It was certainly tough on Hungary who were not only unlucky not to make it into the Qualifying Round but also lost out in a three way tie with Belarus and Sweden who both survive. |

More HeadlinesChristelle Diallo recovered from her ankle injury to claim 10 points and 7 rebounds as France topped Group D with another stunning display as they crushed winless Germany by 77-42. The center did however claim that France still have plenty of work to do despite their 100 percent record, suggesting that the players don't see themselves as favourites. |

Germany Coach Rene Spandauw has spoken of his pride in his players despite his team suffering a heartbreaking second loss of the tournament as they blew a double digit lead against Lithuania to fall 68-65. It was a terrific comeback by Lithuania although German star Sophie Eder who claimed 23 points in the game did have a chance to force overtime but couldn't make any of her three free throws in the last seconds. |
