Russians Claim Crown

Russia were crowned the OSTCHEM U20 European champions on Sunday after emerging victorious in a close-fought final against hosts Hungary.

Forward Tatiana Bokareva led four players in double figures as a strong  second-half performance proved decisive for the Russians in their 77-68 success.

Yacoubou Elected MVP

France's Isabelle Yacoubou was named MVP of the Ostchem European Championship U20 Women in Sopron, Hungary after Sunday's final.

The tournament was the first in a French uniform for Yacoubou, who hails from Benin in Western Africa.

French Clinch Bronze

France won bronze at the Ostchem U20 European Championship Women on Sunday night behind a strong display from Isabelle Yacoubou.

The 195 cm center scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as France completed a 64-55 victory over Spain.

Russia Beat Spain To Reach Final

Evgenia Belyakova and Russia battled back from a 12-point first-half deficit to beat Spain 80-73 and advance to the final of the OSTCHEM U20 European Championship Women.

Genoveva Tapia Lopez's lay-up inside the final two minutes of the second quarter had given the Spaniards a 42-30 lead but the Russians held their nerve and eventually took the lead for good at the start of the fourth period at 60-58 on a lay-up by Belyakova.
