In 2011, an essential facet that was missing in Latvia's game was experience, particularly in the backcourt at death situations. Shying away from national team duties following 2009's disastrous campaign, Janicenoks' return brings this much needed order and calm to the Latvian playmaking position where he will likely work most of the time in tandem with Janis Blums, or as the foil to the speed and excitement of former VEF Riga teammate Dairis Bertans. Has travelled Europe, but in Riga of late, is where Janicenoks has been plying his trade as a mainstay in VEF Riga. Possesses the cool calm demeanour of an assassin, and at times, can become the basketball equivalent of one when his daggers from outside start hitting the mark.
