GAME REPORT

Poland Stay Unbeaten

Veteran forward Adam Wojcik proved too much to handle for Sweden in Poland's 88-67 EuroBasket qualifiying win on Saturday.

Wojcik had 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists as Poland romped to victory, their fourth in a row during qualifying action.

The 36-year old hit just 3/10 from the field, but earned 15 trips to the free throw line in his 28 minutes, making 13.

Poland coach Andrej Urlep has insisted that his side belongs in Division A and there was certainly no evidence to the contrary against the Swedes.

Sweden stayed in contention for most of the opening 10 minutes, but Poland produced a quick burst of scoring at the start of the second quarter to establish a 10-point lead, 36-26.

Poland led comfortably for the rest of the game and the only scare came after Oluoma Nnamaka converted a three-point play to cut the score to 66-57 at the start of the final period.

Poland reeled off a 12-0 run in reply and were in cruise control for the rest of the game.

Sweden had no answer for Poland's outside shooting and the home side nailed 12/20 for a 60% clip. Jeff Nordgaard shot 3/4 from long range for his 15 points, while Andrzej Pluta also had 15.

Next up for Poland in their quest to qualify for EuroBasket 2007 is Bulgaria, while Sweden play Ukraine.
