KRKA Novo Mesto hung on down the stretch to seize control of EuroChallenge Group J with an 86-81 win over Pinar Karsiyaka.
Both teams entered the game with 3-1 records but it was Krka who held the edge most of the way.
That did not stop Karsiyaka attempting one final rally however.
They were down 80-69 with 3:47 to go, but two free throws from David Holston were followed by a three-pointer from the American guard that made it 80-74.
Christopher Booker could only split a pair of free throws for KRKA, allowing Alper Saruhan's three to cut the gap to four 3:07 from time.
However, they could get no closer as Edo Muric held his nerve at the line to make it 83-77 and, after Engin Bayav's lay-up for Karsiyaka, Krivec nailed two more free throws to make it 85-79 going into the final seconds.
Osiris Eldridge hit a jump-shot for Karsiyaka, but after Krivec split a pair form the line, they missed their final chance to get back into it as Ahmet Erdogan's three-point attempt was off-target and Andre Smith turned the ball over after Eldridge grabbed the rebound.
Smiljan Pavic and Jure Balazic had 13 points each for KRKA, while Booker collected 12, Goran Ikonic 11 and Bojan Krivec 10.
Smith had 18 for Karsiyaka, while Holston finished with 16 and Eldridge 15.
Pinar Karsiyaka Head Coach Hakan Demir:
"Congratulations to Krka. In the first half we played without character. We were still very tired from very though game against Efes Pilsen in Turkish league. In the second half we found our play, hard in defence and very aggressive in offence. Unfortunately the gap was too big, but at least we managed to have an advantage before last round in this group."
Pinar Karsiyaka player Osiris Eldridge:
"In the first half Krka was much better. We tried to fight back in the second half but it was too late. Krka did a good job and deserved to win."
KRKA Head coach Aleksandar Džikić:
"We won against a very good opponent who managed to beat Efes Pilsen three days ago. We managed to come to +18 but then we made some mistakes and they managed to score some incredible points. I couldn't be angry to my players because of that. We managed to come to quarter final and from our game in Antwerp depends whether we'll be first or second in the group. In any case we'll play at least one more game in EuroChallenge in Novo Mesto. I'm glad to ses that so many people came to the game and supported us."
KRKA player Matej Rojc:
"Tonight's game was very though. We played quite good in the first half, but third quarter was still better. Unfortunately in last quarter we did too many mistakes. Luckily we managed to concentrate in last minutes and achieved an important win."
