Alain Weisz (Coach, France):
First of all, I would like to congratulate my colleague Alexander Petrovic for making it such a high-quality match. We were very disappointed after the Germany match but we have regrouped well. The team talks have helped us immensely. We hope to win our next match on Sunday in order to go to the 2002 World Championships in Indianapolis. I am proud of my players, especially the contribution from Parker, Weis and Evtimov. However this is a total team effort, not a success of individuals. We have won because of our solid defense and confidence in offense.
Alain Digbeu (Player, France):
After the Germany match, we have realized that we still had the chance of making this a good championship by going to Indianapolis next year and this was how we motivated ourselves for tonight's game. However, this requires another win on Sunday which we will try to accomplish.
Aleksander Petrovic (Coach, Croatia):
After losing an important game such as a Quarter Final, the team that has the fresher legs and can produce a more athletic game comes out victorious. Certainly, France was the team that deserved to win tonight. We could not stop them running over us. The injury of our reserve point guard Krstic hurt us in that sense since their backcourt was organizing their game very well.
