Gala Spicen Up Roster With Curry

Galatasaray continue to compile what is looking an increasingly impressive EuroLeague Women roster with each passing week after they moved to secure the services of Monique Curry who will follow the likes of Sylvia Fowles, Gintare Petronyte and Seimone Augustus to Istanbul.

Curry will step up to the elite club competition of Womens basketball having played last season in EuroCup Women with Russian side Nadezhda who themselves will also play in EuroLeague Women this season.

Petronyte Moves To Gala
Galatasaray have made another significant move to further boost their EuroLeague Women prospects after striking a two season deal with former FIBA Europe Young Player of The Year Ginatre Petronyte. The Lithuanian star will step out onto the floor in Istanbul for her ambitious new team as they desperately try to move out of the shadow of city rivals Fenerbahce who have made plenty of noise so far during the off-season.

The Grand Occasion

The EuroLeague Women Final Four was the main event in Valencia over the weekend so it was no surprise that many prominent figures were in the audience to soak up the atmosphere.

The Mayor of Valencia, Rita Barberá, sat at midcourt on Sunday beside Ros Casares president German Ros and watched as Spartak Moscow Region beat Ros Casares in a thrilling title game, 87-80.

2010 Final Four Sets Attendance Records

It was a memorable weekend for fans of women's basketball with Spartak Moscow Region taking home their fourth consecutive EuroLeague Women title, but records were being set outside the lines as well.

7,800 spectators packed into Pabellon Municipal Fuente de San Luis for the final, more than have ever seen a EuroLeague Women Final Four game.

Milton-Jones Comes Away With Mixed Feelings
Delisha Milton-Jones had asked for more recognition ahead of EuroLeague Women Final Four last weekend and with two typically influential contributions, she did everything in her power to make everyone sit up and take notice. In the end, Ros Casares just came up short in the Final and she was unable to thrust some silverware into the air to truly make her point.

Four-Gone Conclusion

Spartak Moscow Region had to suffer but they won a fourth consecutive EuroLeague Women crown on Sunday by beating Final Four hosts Ros Casares in front of a EuroLeague Women Final Four record 7,800 spectators.

Diana Taurasi followed up her 37-point explosion against UMMC Ekaterinburg on Friday with a game-high 29 against Ros as Spartak won 87-80.

Parker Pours It On As Ekat Whip Wisla For Third

Candace Parker did a little bit of everything on Sunday to fire UMMC Ekaterinburg to an 84-50 triumph over Wisla Can-Pack Krakow in the battle for third place in the EuroLeague Women.

Parker scored 21 points, pulled down seven rebounds and came up with a game-high six steals as the Russian outfit ended its Final Four in Valencia with a resounding victory.

Ros Casares blew out Wisla Can-Pack Krakow 86-57 on Friday night to set up another EuroLeague Women Final showdown with Spartak Moscow Region.

The Spanish giants showed no mercy in rolling to a big win in front of their home fans at La Fonteta, forcing Wisla to commit 26 turnovers.

Spartak Moscow Region stayed on course for a fourth consecutive EuroLeague Women title after another incredible performance by Diana Taurasi.

The USA superstar, and the MVP of last year's Final Four win in Salamanca, buried eight three-balls and finished with a game-high 37 points as Spartak won 87-79.
