To the delight of the home fans, Özge Kavurmacioglu hit a game-winning three-pointer with 15 seconds to go as Turkey picked up a dramatic 68-65 win over Sweden in Group D of the U20 European Championship Women on Thursday night.

Turkey looked to be in control after Olcay Cakir scored 11 points before halftime, and Ayse Cora sunk a pair of shots from downtown immediately after the break, as Turkey used a 26-4 run to open up a 46-30 lead. However, led by Josefin Vesterberg and Alice Nystrom; Sweden refused to surrender, and tied the score at 63 with three minutes to go. But Turkey pulled out the win with a Kavurmacioglu triple.

Sweden held a 47-32 advantage on the glass, grabbing 19 offensive boards, but with both teams making 21 two-point shots, and eight free throws, it was that one last triple that made the difference.

Cakir scored 26 points in victory, Cora chipped in with 14, and Kavurmacioglu finished with 10. For Sweden, Vesterberg scored 20 and Alice Nystrom had 13 points and 11 rebounds.
