Denmark coach Allan Foss is backing his side to qualify for the 2007 European Championships after overseeing a radical overhaul of the national set-up.
After the disappointment of losing out in the semi-final qualifying round in 2003, Foss has rewritten the coaching philosophy in Denmark.
Denmark completed an excellent 4 days of preparation for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers at the Four Nations Tournament in Ireland. The Danes, who were defeated in their opening game against Turkey, beat their final two opponents Ireland and England to emerge as the competition winners.
Ireland's senior men got just the start they were looking for at this week's Four Nations Tournament in Cork.
Ireland featured 3 new caps in the side, Billy Collins, Chris Bracey and Justen Naughton, and the newcomers fitted in nicely as Ireland recorded a 79:70 victory over England.
Following the meeting of the FIBA Europe Board in November 2002, it was decided that a new system of qualification would be implemented for the 2005 European Championship for Men.
