GAME REPORT

BS Energy Braunschweig 57 vs. Ural Great Perm 55

After a poor start in the German League in which they dropped their opening 2 games, Braunschweig produced a surprise in the FIBA Europe League, defeating Ural Great 57:55.

The game was characterised by mistakes and turnovers as both sides look to develop their cohesiveness at the start of the season.

The 1600 spectators at the Volkswagen Arena witnessed a poor shooting display. Neither team were able to hit more than 30% of their field goal attempts and 60% from the free throw line.

A shining light in a bad performance from the home side was Canadian international Prosper Karangwa whose 15 points led his side to a win. For Perm, new signing Sharon Shason distinguished himself with 15 points of his own.

At the 30 minute mark, Braunschweig led 46:35 and the game seemed all but decided. But Perm managed to fight their way back into the contest and it was only some cool nerves in the last minute that saved the day for the home side.

3-pointers from Sam Hoskin and Darren McLinton gave Perm hope of stealing the win, but Karangwa and point guard Gordan Firic sealed the victory for Braunschweig at the free throw line.
