Kepenekian Named MVP Before Record Attendance At Yerevan
Christina Kepenekian was named MVP of the 2010 European Championship Women Division in Armenia, offering the host nation something to cheer about after her team's loss at the title game against Malta.

Kepenekian's award reflects the efforts of the Armenians on and off the court as the final and the closing ceremony at Yerevan were watched on by 1900 people - a new Division C attendance record.

Scots Put Up A Fight, But Armenia Into Final

Hosts Armenia marched into the finals of the 2010 European Championship Women Division C on Friday with an 86-63 victory over Scotland.

The Scots tested Armenia early, taking a 12-10 lead on a Sarah O'Brien jumper with 1:11 left in the first quarter.

No Cooling Off Malta Who Roll Into Semis

Armenia moved to a perfect 3-0 at the European Championship Women, Division C Wednesday with a convincing 71-47 victory over Andorra.

The Andorrans needed a win over the hosts and loss by Moldova to have any hope of going through, but could not keep pace with Armenia who pulled away in the second and third quarter to secure the top spot in Group A.

World Cup? What World Cup?

Nearly half a million people in Armenia tuned in to see their national team's 71-64 win over Moldova on Tuesday at the European Championship for Women Division C taking place in Yerevan.

The end of the game, broadcast on Armenian National Television, was preempted in favor of the Paraguay vs. Japan World Cup contest, but the station received so many complaints they were forced to replay the basketball game in its entirety later in the evening.
