Career: Panionios (Greece-A1, 2007-10), Robert Morris (USA-NCAA, 2010-11)
One of the best young prospects for Greece in recent years, Artemis Spanou is a young player who is very much seen as being the future of the Greek frontcourt. She has enjoyed a stellar youth career to date and was named MVP at the U18 European Championship Women Division B during 2008 even though she was aged just 15-years-old. She then went on to repeat this accomplishment last summer but things were to get even better after she was called up to the senior team and stepped out, albeit briefly, at the FIBA World Championship Women. Having previously played for three years back home in Greece, she is now developing in the NCAA at Robert Morris College and if selected, she will continue her basketball education at her first EuroBasket Women tournament. Strong and a good rebounder, she has also been crowned Rookie Of The Year in her college conference and was a nomination for FIBA Europe Young Player Of The Year too. |
