For an entire decade Marko Tomas - if healthy - was one of the national team's most reliable players. Tomas was always considered Croatia's best perimeter defender, while capable of scoring in bunches and making clutch baskets. He made his debut in 2004, but because of many injuries he appeared in only two EuroBasket Final Rounds games since 2007. A torn Achilles less than two years ago even made him consider retirement, but Tomas is far from retired and coach Perasovic was thrilled to see the veteran swingman join the training camp as a late addition this summer. The two already worked together in Cibona Zagreb, when Tomas led the team - and Euroleague Top 16 - in scoring. Tomas last played for Croatia four years ago, and is expected to have a decreased role, but his presence provides Croatia with loads of options on both ends of the floor.
