Parker, without question his country's greatest-ever player, is set to make a seventh consecutive EuroBasket appearance, an all-time record among French players. At the start of 2013, he had played 130 times for his country since making his debut against Turkey in Ankara in 2000. He has previously won EuroBasket silver (2011) and bronze (2005), as well as being named MVP when France won the U18 European Championship in 2000 in Croatia. A product of the national sports academy, INSEP, Parker made his professional debut for Paris Racing in 1999. However, at the age of 19, he was drafted 28th overall by the NBA's San Antonio Spurs where he has remained ever since. He has been a key figure in claiming three NBA titles (2003, 2005, 2007) as well as reaching the Finals in 2013. He is a five-time NBA All Star and was Finals MVP in 2007. Parker's American father Tony Sr. played professional basketball, as did his younger brothers TJ (Térence-Jonathan) and Pierre. His mother Pamela is from the Netherlands and is a former model.
