Cras Basket Taranto stayed alive in the hunt for the Round 2 places in the EuroLeague Women with an 81-69 upset of Group C leaders Wisla Can-Pack Krakow.
The Italians hosted the encounter and broke open a close game in the fourth quarter to claim their fifth win.
Kia Vaughn equalled her season-high of 20 points and also corralled 11 rebounds for Taranto.
Cras are now in sixth place - a win behind Lattes Montpellier.
Wisla went into the contest as the Group C leaders.
They fell to 9-3 - the same mark as Sparta&K Moscow Region.
Trailing 57-56 in the fourth quarter, Angela Gianolla pulled up for a fast-break jump shot and drilled it to put Taranto in front.
A pair of Magdalena Leciejewska free-throws later tied the game at 59-59 for Wisla.
Megan Mahoney then put the hosts in front for good.
A member of the Rest of the World team at last year's EuroLeague Women All Star Game, Mahoney made two free-throws and then nailed a three-pointer on the team's ensuing possession for a 64-59 lead.
After Ewelina Kobryn replied for Wisla, Taranto's Michelle Greco hit a jumper to start a 7-0 run for a 71-62 Taranto lead.
The result was never in doubt after, with Roberto Ricchini's side claiming a 12-point triumph.
Wisla Can-Pack Head Coach Jose Hernadéz
"Congratulations to Taranto. The defeat is the result of the strength of Taranto and our bad defense in the first half. But we are happy as we pass to the second round of EuroLeague Women. We continue to believe in our strength for the rest of the European season."
CB Taranto Head Coach Roberto Ricchini
"Although this victory does not allow us to make the playoffs, it still has great value because we beat one of the leaders of the EuroLeague Women. This means that my team is going through a good time which should be enhanced in Italy, where are in the running for two objectives. In parallel, as we showed today, we would like to fully honour the European event."
Wisla Can-Pack player Milka Bjelica
"Today we didn't give up the fight, because Taranto wanted to win for the fans and in the end of the match we made too many mistakes. But we remain strong in the EuroLeague."
CB Taranto player Michelle Greco
"We are delighted with the victory that we wanted in spite of the precarious condition of classification. Krakow is a strong team, but we showed tonight that we have important weapons available."
