|Gaelle Skrela was one of four players in double figures for BLMA in the upset of Taranto|
French veterans Edwige Lawson and Sandra Dijon tore apart CB Taranto on Wednesday as Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration cruised to victory on the first night of the EuroLeague Women.
Lawson had 22 points and Dijon 17 as BLMA cruised to an 82-65 win.
The major blows were landed by the home side in the last 3:54 of the second quarter.
With her team leading 33-31, Lawson buried a jumper and teammate Kristen Mann followed with a hook shot for a six-point lead.
Lawson then passed to Dijon and she connected with a jump shot to stretch the lead to 39-31.
Lawson and Dijon would end up sinking two free-throws apiece and the latter added a jumper just before the end of the half for a 49-35 BLMA advantage.
The run continued at the start of the third quarter with Lawson and Gaelle Skrela hitting lay-ups to make it 82-65.
BLMA ended up going in front by 20 late in the third quarter and Taranto got no closer than 10 in the fourth.
Skrela finished with a game-high five steals for BLMA.
Michelle Greco led Taranto with 20 points in defeat.
