Elina Babkina
Career: TTT Riga (Latvia-LSBL, 2004-08), SK Cesis (Latvia-LSBL, 2008-09), Challes Les Eaux (France-LFB, 2009-10), Lotos Gdynia (Poland-PLKK,210-11)

A recognised talent for years for the National Team and with an Olympic tournament already to her name, this guard has developed a good rapport with Coach Dikeoulakos who also coaches her at Lotos Gdynia. Babkina finished the EuroLeague Women season with some great numbers, gaining All Star status before picking up a Polish Cup winners medal while also being named MVP of the Final. She also won a bronze medal back in 2005 with the Latvia U20 National Team even though she was only 16-years-old. Her Olympic experience may have been brief and she missed the cut for EuroBasket Women 2009, but nevertheless she soon made up for it by helping the U20 team to yet another bronze in the same year. Now it looks like she is ready to step things up with the senior team who will once again benefit from her vision, quickness and ability to score. She can handle the ball well playing the point but will also gladly play the two because of her ability to shoot the ball from the wings which is perhaps more the position she is beginning to find herself in these days.
