Just when Spain needed a real boost to maintain their perennial podium challenge, the decision to grant Sancho Lyttle a Spanish passport suddenly gave them access to the services of one of the biggest stars in European Basketball. In the last two years, during her time with Halcon Avenida, Lyttle has exploded in EuroLeague Women with some astonishing performances and numbers. Her consistency has been terrific throughout her career and incredibly, she has averaged a double-double since first entering the competition. Now she has also won a Final Four too and is recognized as a star across the continent. Her athleticism and strength in the post and especially around the rim is a real bonus for Spain who first saw what she could do in their National Team vest at the 2010 FIBA World Championship Women when Lyttle lived up to the hype and proved her worth by posting impressive numbers. An exciting player, Lyttle provides the kind of intensity and scoring talent inside which the likes of Torrens and Valdemoro replicate in the backcourt. She will be a real handful yet again for opposing defences in what will be her first EuroBasket Women tournament and so don't be surprised if she helps fire Spain to yet another medal.
