Wasserburg Fall Short

German powers TSV 1880 Wasserburg saw their attempt for a miracle EuroCup Women comeback fall just short in a 67-65 loss at home to Croatians Gospic in Group F.

The four-time reigning DBBL champions trailed by 22 points midway through the second quarter but never gave up. They pulled to within two points twice in the final minute only to be unable to send the 2006 Croatian champions to the free-throw line because they had not committed enough team fouls.

Guyton Takes Her Bow

Wanda Guyton officially bid adieu to active basketball with a farewell game between her final club TSV Wasserburg and a team of All-Stars.

The 42-year-old Guyton played last season with the EuroCup Women side but retired this summer after an 18-year professional career which included back-to-back WNBA titles with the Houston Comets, four straight German league crowns, three consecutive German Cups and one appearance in the EuroLeague Women Final Four.
