Czech Republic: Kulichova Happy With Brno Decision

Promising center Petra Kulichova has explained her decision to join Gambrinus Brno for the upcoming season.

Kulichova, 20, produced some outstanding displays in the FIBA EuroLeague Women this season for Loko Trutnov, alerting several top teams in Europe.

Bobrovsky - We Could Not Stand The Pressure

Gambrinus Brno coach Jan Bobrovsky looked back with regret at his team's inability to hold out under pressure as they fell to a EuroLeague final defeat at the hands of Samara.

The Czech team played some fantastic basketball in the first 35 minutes and looked on course to complete a treble after lifting their domestic league and cup.

Gambrinus JME 66 vs. VBM-SGAU 69

Samara lifted the first EuroLeague Women title of the club’s short history tonight after a sensational victory over Gambrinus Brno at the Final Four.

Brno, who have made 5 Final Fours in the last 6 seasons had the experience, but Samara’s star power proved too much for the Czech side, as they powered to victory in the final 5 minutes.

MiZo-Pecsi VSK 60 vs. Lietuvos Telekomas 68

Lietuvos Telekomas finished their first ever EuroLeague Women Final Four in third position, after defeating MiZo Pecs on Sunday in Samara.

Lietuvos were not at their best in Friday’s semi-final against Samara, and after a disappointing first quarter against Pecs, the signs for the Lithuanian side looked ominous.

VBM-SGAU 66 vs. Lietuvos Telekomas 58

Samara’s season of destiny continued on Friday night at the EuroLeague Women Final Four with a victory over Lietuvos Telekomas.

Samara are bidding to become the first team since Comense in 1995 to go through a European season undefeated. If they can beat Gambrinus Brno in Sunday’s final, they will have recorded an 18-0 record since opening their EuroLeague Women campaign against Parma in November.

MiZo-Pecsi VSK 61 vs. Gambrinus JME 71

Taj McWilliams and Gambrinus Brno held their nerve against MiZo Pecs on Friday and won 71-61 to reach the final of the FIBA EuroLeague Women in Samara.

McWilliams made sure there was only going to be one winner, striking two important early blows.

Russia: Duo Pen New Samara Deals

Samara have extended the contracts of star players Ann Wauters and Maria Stepanova ahead of the start of the Final Four of the FIBA EuroLeague Women this week.

Wauters has signed a two-year agreement with the club, much to the disappointment of their European rivals as Ros Casares, Valenciennes and Parma were all keen to sign the Belgian international.
