UMMC Ekaterinburg led from start to finish and beat Fenerbahce 94-62 to take the upper hand in their EuroLeague Women Quarter-Final.

The Russian outfit, looking to make it back to a second successive Final Four, took command early and never looked back.

Gundars Vetra's team stormed into an 11-2 lead with Polish superstar Agnieszka Bibrzycka scoring five of those points.

By the end of the opening frame, the lead had ballooned to 30-18.

UMMC point guard Cappie Pondexter, who was playing against her former team, had seven points in the first period for UMMC.

The home side then pressed home the advantage over the next 10 minutes and it was Australia international Penny Taylor who did much of the damage.

Her three-point play extended the lead to 39-26 with 7:21 to go and the Russian giants padded their advantage to 49-35 by half-time.

Taylor had 12 points and Bibrzycka 11 at the break.

UMMC pulled away over the last two quarters to seize the 1-0 lead in the best-of three series with Game 2 in Istanbul on Friday.

Nevin Nevlin had 17 points of her game-high 23 at the break and pulled down seven rebounds.

Asjha Jones finished as UMMC's leading scorer with 19 points while Taylor and Bibrzycka added 15 points apiece.
UMMC were 33 of 48 (68.7%) inside the arc compared to Fenerbahce's 24 of 47 (51%).

Fenerbahce were outrebounded 31-28.
