GAME REPORT

Wright Answer For Krasnye Krylia

34. Bracey Wright (Krasnye Krylia)
Bracey Wright and Julian Wright each poured in 24 points for Krasnye Krylia

Krasnye Krylia's two Wrights could do no wrong as they poured in 24 points each in an 89-74 victory over CSM Oradea as they got off the mark in Group B of EuroChallenge.

Krasnye began to pull away in the second quarter as back-to-back baskets from Julian Wright pushed them into a 38-31 lead before Demetris Nichols' lay-up padded it further.

After Nichols hit a three to start the second half,

followed it with a lay-up and the lead had quickly bulged to 50-39.

After Bracey Wright hit a three and Artem Zabelin added a short jumper, Oradea found themselves trailing by 15 and apparently unable to reverse the tide.

Julian Wright, who had nine boards along with his points haul, remained at the heart of everything Krasnye were doing and the American scored six quick points to make it 66-49 before Oradea hit seven unanswered to limit the damage at the end of the third period.

That proved the start of a concerted rally from the hosts as Radovan Markovic opened the fourth quarter with a three-pointer before Sean Denison followed it with a jump shot that made it 67-61.

It took both the Wrights and Nichols to end it, as Bracey Wright and Nichols hit threes either side of a Julian Wright dunk, quickly increasing the lead to 77-65, and this time Oradea had no answer.

Nichols finished with 17 points for Krasnye with Aaron Miles adding 10 and eight assists.

Denison had 20 points for Oradea with Markovic adding 15 and Titus Nicoara 14.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes: CSM Oradea vs. Krasnye Krylia

CSM Oradea Player Sean Denison
"We played against a top Russian team and they were good against us. It was a hard game tonight. We fought hard and had some good plays during the game. It was a tough one. As always it is tough to lose at home in front of such a beautiful crowd. It is a very nice environment. About my game, I will say I played better offensively than I did before."

CSM Oradea Head Coach Cristian Achim
"We played against a team with great individual value. We tried to win this game, but sadly for us it was impossible. I think we fought but not enough. It was not possible for us to win tonight. We had a good strategy and I think we could have played better. Overall I am not satisfied with our game against Samara, even though we have to admit that there is a difference between the two clubs."

Krasnye Krylia Samara Player Julian Wright
"It was really fun to play in front of this crowd. We knew we have to bring our best effort. They made a couple of runs, tried to come back. I think the difference was that we made a couple of stops defensively. Our team relies on defence and it helps our offence. We rely on defence because we can run the floor and have the quality to hit through shots."

Krasnye Krylia Samara Head Coach Sergey Bazarevich
"We were kind of back to the wall after we lost against Gaziantep on the opening day. We have a new team compared to the one that won the EuroChallenge last season. We are in the process of building the team. I think crucial in this game was that we started to play some defence in the second part of the game, after a not a very good start to the game from our side. Oradea stayed in the game because they hit some three point shots and we were losing focus. We will work on this. It was a good crowd in the gym."
