Dutch Aim To Build On Unprecedented Success

The Dutch Basketball Federation is scrambling for a new trophy cabinet this week.

Both the men's and the women's Under-20 teams brought the silverware home from the Division B European Championships in the last fortnight.

Pop Named MVP

Romania forward Claudia Pop was voted the MVP of the U20 European Championship Women 2009 Division B, in Ohrid.

Pop helped Romania win promotion to Division A by guiding them to the final game of the tournament in F.Y.R. of Macedonia.

Oranje Win Gold, Beat Romania In Tough Final

The Netherlands claimed the gold medal in the Division B U20 Women European Championship 2009 by winning an seesaw battle over Romania 59-53.

After a second quarter which saw four ties and three lead changes, the Netherlands went into halftime up by just one at 29-28.
