| NEWSRussian star Maria Stepanova of BC Volgaburmash Samara was presented with the first-ever FIBA Europe Women's Player of the Year award during the inaugural EuroLeague Women All-Star game in Pecs, Hungary.
In the opening minutes of the game, play was stopped. FIBA Europe President George Vassilakopoulos and Secretary General Nar Zanolin came on to the court and jointly presented Stepanova with the 2005 FIBA Europe Women's Player of the Year trophy. |

The first ever EuroLeague Women All-Star Game turned into the Maria Stepanova show as the 2005 FIBA Europe Women's Player of the Year led Europe to an easy win over the Rest of the World in Pecs, Hungary.
Stepanova poured in 18 points, four of which came on two dunks, as Europe eased to an 86-67 victory. |

Of all the greats at the EuroLeague Women All-Star game, a player not on either the European or World team stole the show in the three-point shootout.
Zsófia Fegyverneky of MiZo-Pécs was brilliant in the three-point contest, hitting for 12 out of a possible 20 points in the first round to bring her home fans to their feet. |
