Pecs are the second team to qualify for the EuroLeague Women Final Four this year after a thrilling overtime win over French side Bourges.
Pecs were already on the way to qualifying for their second final four in 3 years after doing the hard part of winning in Bourges. After an 11:0 start in the return leg, it looked like the rest of the game would be plain sailing.
Bourges started with their usual five - Fonseca, NDongue, Dumerc, Drljaca, Marcauskaite. For its part, Pecs started with 2 point guards.
From the beginning of the game the Hungarians were strong and Branzova opened the scoring. They forged ahead and a 3-pointer from Karolyi put the score at 4-7.
Bourges Basket take the home court advantage against MiZo Pécsi VSK in what promises to be the tightest series in the Quarter-Final Play-Offs 2004.
Bourges finished second in Group A with a 11/3 record and although Pécs finished 3rd over in Group B with a 9-5 win/loss, the Hungarians could still hold the edge…
With only one round of games left of the regular season in the EuroLeague Women there is still no certainty as to the definitive 4 clubs from each group which will go through to the next round. Both groups see 2-3 teams fighting for a Play-Off spot and even the final placings at the top of each table are not set in stone. It has all come down to the last game day and there is still room for surprises…
