Latvia Clinch U18 Division B Title

Latvia's women are in Beijing, China, playing at the Olympics for the first time.

Don't be surprised if they becoming regulars in the competition, especially when considering the success of the country's youth teams like the under-18s this summer in Skopje, FYR Macedonia.

Belgium, Latvia Win Promotion

Belgium overcame Slovenia and Latvia whipped Greece to reach the final of the U18 European Championship Women Division B in Skopje.

The triumphs also clinched promotion for the teams to Division A for next year's event.

So today is the last day of our Europeans.

Belgium and Latvia qualified yesterday for Division A status and are playing tonight in the final. And yes, we will be there watching you and cheering!

Chiemeka: Taking It On The Chin

After our defeat against Ireland we had a day off where we just relaxed, went swimming and most importantly spent a nice day together.

I must say, we had lots of fun and recharged our batteries for our next game. And I would also thank the parents for having taken us out for the afternoon.

Final Four Set

Slovenia, Belgium and Latvia stormed into the semi-finals on the back of wins in the Qualifying Round for places one through eight at the U18 European Championship for Women.

Latvia finished top of Group F after a 79-46 triumph over the Netherlands and Belgium came second following a 67-51 victory over Hungary.

Greece win late against Estonia in Skopje

Slovenia and Greece won their opening games in Group E of the Qualifying Round for first to eighth place at the U18 European Championship Division B in Skopje.

The Slovenians trounced Germany 78-50 with Nika Baric and Teja Oblak each pouring in 19 points.

Greeks, Slovenians And Latvia Clinch Third in Skopje

Greece clinched first place in Group A of the U18 European Championship for Women Division B in Skopje, FYR Macedonia, with a 60-47 triumph over Germany.

In a contest between two undefeated sides on Sunday, Angeliki Nikolopoulou and Aikaterini Kontali each scored 15 points for the Greeks.
