Ros Casares made quick work of Gorzow on Wednesday night in the EuroLeague Women.
With the Polish club having found themselves in a difficult situation and allowed Belarus international Yelena Leuchanka to leave for Polish rivals Wisla Can-Pack Krakow earlier this week, Ros found little resistance and won 86-52.
Still smarting from their Copa de la Reina Final setback on Sunday to Rivas Ecopolis at La Fonteta, Ros hit the road and got 16 points from Rebekkah Brunson.
Leading 19-18 late in the first quarter, the Valencia club outscored the hosts 22-4 over an eight-minute stretch for a 41-22 stranglehold on proceedings.
They went to half-time with a 48-24 lead and had a 40-point advantage by the end of the third.
Ros improved to 7-2 with the victory and moved into first place in Group D while Gorzow slumped to 2-7 and were officially eliminated from play-off contention.
Gorzow Head Coach Dariusz Maciejewski:
"We played without three key players. Therefore, it was a good match for us. Our fans were pleased. Today in my team were playing very young players. They fulfilled their dream of playing in Euroleague Women. We won one period, and at the beginning, we were an equal rival for Ros Casares."
Gorzow player Justyna Żurowska:
"I thank our fans for their support. For those fans we want to play. We fought for every ball. The opponents came to the meeting very professionally and fought to the last second."
