Ice-Cool Schio Clinch Victory At Gorzow

Beretta-Famila won a thriller 74-70 at Gorzow to make it two EuroLeague Women wins from as many games.

Raffaella Masciadri hit three of four foul shots down the stretch to seal the victory for the visitors in what had been a close game throughout.

Kalana Greene led the home side with 14 points, with their balanced offence of Justyna Zurowska (12 points), Yelena Leuchanka (11) and Samantha Richards (10) completing their scoring.

In contrast, Beretta-Famila were led by a massive 31 points from Isabelle Yacoubou-Dehoui who added ten rebounds.

Masciadri added 14 points for the visitors as they clinched victory.

A tight start to the game saw the side locked at nine before Leuchanka put the home side 12-9 ahead with a three-pointer, and Richards also drained from downtown as Gorzow opened a six point advantage which they took into the first break.

Leuchanka made it an eight point game, but back-to-back Yacoubou-Dehoui baskets and a Jenifer Nadalin and-one for Beretta-Famila tied the score at 31 with four minutes of the half remaining.

There was little to chose between the sides in the closing stages of the half, with Gorzow leading 41-38 going to the final play before Yacoubou-Dehoui made it a one point game at the end of the second period.

Great Britain star Jo Leedham levelled the score with a trey for Gorzow early in the second half, but that sparked a 12-1 run from the visitors, capped by a Yacoubou-Dehoui basket.

A timeout for the hosts paid dividends as they cut the deficit to four going into the final 20 seconds of the period, but Liron Cohen hit a jumper to send Beretta-Famila into the final break 61-55 ahead.

The visitors were still ahead by two with five minutes remaining before Laura Macchi hit a pair from the line to double that margin.

Greene converted a two-plus-one play to cut the hosts' deficit to one going into the final 2:10, but that was the final time the hosts scored as Masciadri stayed ice-cool at the foul line.
