Lithuania European Champion 2003

Lithuania clinched their third European Championship title and first since the break-up of the Soviet Union with a 93-84 victory over Spain on Sunday night.

The Baltic giants, who won gold medals in 1937 and 1939, produced another outstanding team performance in Sweden to deny Spain their first ever gold medal in the championships.

Spain: Life On The Outside Tough For Gasol

Pau Gasol admits he is finding it hard to adapt to his new position covering the progress of the Spain basketball team rather than playing for it.

Gasol will fly to Belgrade on Wednesday but will not play in the EuroBasket to allow his foot injury more time to recover.

Germany have officially called time on coach Henrik Dettman following the country's early exit from the European Championships in Sweden. Dettman, who is also a coach in the Bundesliga, was under pressure to challenge for the title with the presence of Dallas Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki in his line-up.
