I am still pinching myself after watching another excellent EuroLeague Women Final Four. Last year in Vidnoje it was great.

This year in Brno, it was even better.

Dynamo Moscow's bid to reach the EuroLeague Women Final Four has been dealt a terrible blow with superstar Anete Jekabsone-Zogota  injured and unavailable for the quarter finals against Spartak Moscow Region.

Jekabsone-Zogota was recently named FIBA Europe Women's player of the year after a stunning performance for Latvia at the EuroBasket in Italy and with Dynamo.

Jekbasone-Zogota told Basketball World News:  "I sustained a right shoulder injury on February 16th and I will be out of action for three weeks. As an athlete, it's normal to have to face injuries at some point in your career. I had an injury in the crucial stages of the EuroBasket in Italy but besides that for the last two years I haven't had any serious injuries. I knew that one day it was going to happen to me."

Dynamo meet Spartak on Tuesday in the first game of their tie and Jekabsone-Zogota is hoping her team can overcome her absence.

"I'm sad that I can't help my team against Spartak but I hope that they will play well without me," Jekabsone-Zogota said.

"I think they key to the game will be for Dynamo to be solid on defence and not leave Spartak players much room to shoot, because they have very good shooters and we must stop them. As for me, I will try to recover as soon as possible and return to play stronger than before to help Dynamo."
