Having completed a debut summer with the senior national team during qualification, Cernakova should be able to hang on to her spot, since she was consistently handed minutes by coach Vojtko throughout last year. She is an excellent defender, relentless worker and can play either spot in the backcourt if required. She has just completed a sixth successive season playing in EuroCup Women with her hometown club and was give 20 minutes court time in both semi-final legs of the competition to underline the progression she has made in recent years. Her intensity and ability to come up with steals will be the primary reason she is thrown into the game. She can provide a spark at key times. |
