GAME REPORT

Hill And Hassell Help Hapoel Holon

6. Franklin Hassell (Hapoel Holon)
Franklin Hassell claimed his fourth double-double in five EuroChallenge games

Excellent double-double displays by frontcourt duo Franklin Hassell and Lawrence Hill helped Hapoel Holon secure a 75-70 home win against Telekom Baskets to put themselves in the driving seat in EuroChallenge Group H.

The former had 22 points and 12 rebounds, with the latter claiming 17 points and 11 boards, in a tight game which the home side eventually sealed from the free throw line.

After a first half which had both teams embattled in an intense struggle to put any kind of daylight between themselves, it looked as if Hapoel Holon had finally made the break that mattered during the third quarter.

A triple by Jerome Dyson put them 56-46 in front with three minutes left of the penultimate quarter, but by the time three minutes of the fourth period had elapsed, Telekom Baskets had tied the scores via a three-pointer by David McCray.

It set up a nail-biting finale, but Hapoel iced the free throws they needed down the stretch to take their fourth win in five games.

Chris Ensminger had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Telekom Baskets.

Holon head coach Dan Shamir:
"It was a good game for us, but next week we need to win against Antwerp and not dealing with calculations."

Holon player Jerome Dyson:
"It was a tough game with a tough team on the other side. In the second half they started to run and shoot threes, luckily we managed to catch up with them."

Bonn head coach Michael Koch:
"Well done Holon, they deserved to win. They had the right decisions at the end of the game, and who takes the right decisions at the end wins. They have fans that don't stop supporting them and sing all game long."

Bonn player Chris Ensminger:
"We came here and we wanted to win, and now we must win in Georgia. We knew that Holon is a good team. They played strong and good in Bonn and of course they're playing strong here in Holon."
