|Tanel Kurbas led all scorers with 24 points|
Tartu Rock rode a huge second half to a 97-67 victory over Gaz Metan Medias as they kept up their winning streak at the top of Group I in the EuroChallenge.
Tartu outscored the visitors 52-27 after the break as they moved to 3-0 at the top of the standings, while Medias' search for a Last 16 victory goes on.
Medias did find a way to keep Vilmantas Dilys quiet, but could do little to slow Tanel Kurbas who poured in 24 points.
Medias started slightly the better of the two teams and had their noses in front until midway through the second period.
But a 10-0 burst featuring five points from Augustas Peciukevicius powered Tartu into a 38-35 lead 3:43 before the break, and they never trailed again.
The lead was just two at half-time, 42-40, but an 11-2 start to the third quarter set the tone as Gert Dorbek's three-pointer made it 53-42.
Tartu never eased up, and scored the final 10 points of the game unanswered to add an exclamation mark.
Although Dilys, who entered the game leading Tartu in scoring and rebounding, was held scoreless, Tartu got plenty of contributions from elsewhere.
Janar Talts finished with 20 points with 10 rebounds and six assists while Peciukevicius scored 17 and Dorbek 11.
Radomir Marojevic scored 19 with 11 boards while Kyle Shiloh scored 15 and Slavisa Bogavac added 14 in losing efforts.
Gaz Metan Head Coach Marcel Tenter
"In this game we only had enough energy to play for two quarters and against Tartu Rock this is not enough, because they have a long rotation and had fresh players on the court who made important shots. The only good thing is that nobody got injured, but we are in a difficult situation, because we have to take on at least two players to make our rotation competitive."
Gaz Metan Player Radomir Marojevic
"We started the first quarter very well, but we lost concentration in the second quarter. For us, a big problem is that we could only use five or six players."
Tartu Rock Head Coach Gert Kullamäe
"In the first half we had some trouble with their defensive strategy and we overplayed a bit. They played well in the first half - smart, disciplined and made their shots. In the second half we started to press their guards more and their whole team got tired. Our shots started to fall as well in the second half and from there the difference got bigger."
Tartu Rock Player Janar Talts
"In the first half they played well and we couldn't adapt our offence to their defensive strategy. But in the second half we got our engine going and they got tired and in the end we tried to make the difference as big as possible. Three wins is a good result, but we still have a long way to go, because we haven't qualified for the quarter-finals yet and we still have three games to go."
