GAME REPORT

Dijon Edge Den Bosch To Advane

33. Zacherie Moss (JDA Dijon)
Zacherie Moss and JDA Dijon were late but still booked their ticket to the Last 16

Dijon Basket booked their ticket to the Last 16 of the EuroChallenge with a 70-66 victory over SPM Shoeters Den Bosch on the road.

In a head-to-head fight for the last ticket to the next round out of Group A, Dijon pulled clear in the final moments to secure victory.

After an intense scrap the teams found themselves trading the lead as the minutes ticked down.

Two free throws from Andre Harris put Dijon up 60-59 with 4:07 to go before Kees Akerboom's three-pointer snatched the lead right back.

Harris answered in kind to make it 63-62 to the French side with 3:19 remaining only for Tai Wesley to hit a jumper.

But when Anthony Dobbins retook the lead for the visitors with 2:15 to go, they would keep it for good.

Harris made it 67-64 with a jump-shot 2:06 from time before Terrance Campbell split a pair of free throws.

Stefan Wessels got two points back for Den Bosch with 75 seconds left but the game was under Dijon's control and free throws from Harris finished the job.

Harris led Dijon with 18 points while Campbell added 17 and Mykal Riley 10.

Akerboom had 19 points for Den Bosch while David Gonzalvez added 14 and Wesley 11 with five rebounds and six assists. Wessels collected 10 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes SPM Shoeters Den Bosch vs. JDA Dijon

Shoeters head coach Sam Jones
"It's tough to lose like this. I want to congratulate Coach and Harris. Both teams went back and forth. I believe we controlled the game however. But in the end our execution hurt us. Turnovers, miscommunication on defence and of course Harris made some very big shots. We didn't execute well. The EuroChallenge has been fantastic for us and we take this to our domestic league."

Shoeters forward Kees Akerboom
"The last three minutes we were not able to stop them. Harris made some big shots and we couldn't get a hand in his face. We made some errors at the end of the game, and I guess we should learn form that."

JDA Dijon head coach Jean-Louie Borg
"Very glad to finish victorious. It was a very difficult game for us. Den Bosch played with a lot of energy and found the three easily. The tempo and timing was something we controlled in the second quarter. In the last quarter we fought 10 minutes to qualify. We proved that we can play in the Last 16. We made big shots. Congratulations to Den Bosch. They played good basketball with good fans. THey have a lot of energy, and a perfect organisation. The three teams in the EuroChallenge are very different. The difference however comes down to details. Coach Jones did a very good job, and they played very well."

JDA Dijon player Andre Harris
"It was a tough game. I'm glad we won. Big victory. We made stops and shots to win the game. I'm very glad about that. Towards the end we got a couple of shots, and we hit some big ones. Den Bosch has always been a top team in Holland, and they showed that tonight."
