|Jelena Dubljevic had her best game of the season with 20 points and 14 rebounds|
Jelena Dubljevic's double-double powered ZVVZ USK Prague to a 67-63 home success against Galatasaray odeabank in EuroLeague Women Group C on Wednesday.
Prague erased memories of last year's season sweep at the hands of the Turkish giants behind an incredible individual effort from Dubljevic.
The forward started sharp and never let up going for 20 points and 14 rebounds to help keep Prague perfect at 3-0 while giving Gala their first defeat.
Shavonte Zellous scored 21 for the visitors and Kelsey Bone added 16 but Prague's hot shooting was the difference.
In fact, a triple, which gave Dubljevic three of her nine first-quarter points, also saw the hosts finish the opening period 17-16 in front.
Zellous had 11 points in the second quarter to keep the visitors in it as Galatasaray went into half-time with a 31-29 lead.
The third quarter would belong to Prague however as Eva Viteckova opened the period with a three-pointer to give them a lead they would never relinquish.
From there Prague outscored Gala 23-10 in the quarter. The visitors wouldn't give up and Alba Torrens became more of a factor in the fourth but they couldn't get it back.
Prague Head Coach Natalia Hejkova
"We were very responsible in the preparation for this game. The first half didn´t go according to our plan. But we fought hard and thanks to our persistence we won."
Prague Player Laia Palau
"63 points for Galatasaray, this is a good job. They are an offensive team. The games in EuroLeague Women are about defence. I think we did our job better in the second half. In the first half we were a little bit lost, we lost many balls. In the second half we were more on the spots we were supposed to be, we were more intelligent."
Galatasaray Head Coach Ekrem Memnun
"We lost the game, congratulations to Prague. We made very simple mistakes. We didn´t pay attention to the things on defence that we agreed to. So this is the price that we have to pay. We will hopefully get it back in Istanbul."
Galatasaray Player Shavonte Zellous
"It was a very hard loss for us. There were two great teams playing. Prague is on the top right now. We have to get better defensively. We need to keep our heads up. We are going to fight hard to come up with a win in the next game."
