|Cappie Pondexter shone bright on Wednesday evening as Fenerbahce wrapped up another win|
Fenerbahce maintained their proud unbeaten EuroLeague Women record after claiming a 67-59 victory over Wisla Can-Pack to complete the double over their Group B rivals.
Head-coach Roberto Iniguez masterminded an eighth win to date in the campaign as his imperious team shrugged off a slight wobble to get the job done yet again.
While not their most fluid performance of the season, Fenerbahce still had far too much in their locker room for Wisla.
The Polish side competed impressively in the first quarter, but never truly recovered from a ragged spell in the third period, when they allowed Fenerbahce to build a handy cushion for later in the game.
Led by Cappie Pondexter who finished the contest with a fine 10 assists to go with 12 points, Fenerbahce always held the upper hand once they moved into a clear lead at 24-16 early in the second period.
It was a 14-6 run in the third quarter which effectively won the group leaders the game, allowing them to push their lead out to a seemingly unassailable 58-41 buffer.
But, just when it looked like they would be able to cruise home, Wisla dug deep and cut the arrears to just seven points with a couple of minutes remaining.
However, Fenerbahce regained their composure to safely see out the game.
Jantel Lavender had her almost customary double-double for Wisla with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
