The French champions have endured a roller-coaster campaign, having had to recover from losing their first three games and indeed it was their win at the Steel Arena against Kosice back in December, which truly sparked them into life.
With the visitors also suffering from an inconsistent few months, both teams headed into this fixture with a 5-4 record, but it was Bourges who came out on top after a power-packed display.
They soared into an 18-8 lead off the back of successive triples from Diandra Tchatchouang and the inside presence of Marianna Tolo and Endene Miyem.
And, the early ascendency they established was barely relinquished throughout the remainder of the contest.
In fact, their superiority was only solidified and strengthened via a commanding passage of play either side of the break when they established a 13-4 run to move 17 points clear.
It gave them a handy cushion to stave off a potential revival and comeback from Kosice, but it never arrived with the Slovak team hampered by Lynetta Kizer fouling out early.
Tolo stood out with a near-perfect shooting performance which harvested 17 points, whilst Celine Dumerc dished up eight assists.
Tijana Krivacevic impressed for Good Angels by also scoring 17 points.
Emmeline Ndongue, Tango Bourges:
"The calculation for the play-off [pairings] was too complicated so we just wanted to win the game. Now, we will have two games at home and we know it's very important. During the third quarter, Kosice came back with more intensity and it took a long time for us to adapt to that. Now we know we have to win two more games to make it to the Final Eight."
Valérie Garnier, Tango Bourges coach:
"The target was to win and we achieved it. Kosice was here to win and reach a better place in the ranking. In the first half we were on 66% from two-point shooting, it was just impossible to continue like that. In the beginning of the second half, we lost more balls due to the intensity of the Kosice defense. The players did their job in defense and kept Kosice under 60 points. It was a real EuroLeague game."
Zuzanna Zirkova, Good Angels Kosice:
"I want to first congratulate Bourges for their win. We had to start more focused and more prepared. We didn't have any intensity [in our game] during the first 20 minutes. "
Maros Kovacic, Good Angels Kosice coach:
"We didn't start in a good way but in the second half, we played some really good defense. We took a lot of information for the next [series of] games."
