|Martynas Echodas enjoyed a good scoring night with 23 points, adding 8 rebounds in Lithuania's overtime win|
Lithuania needed overtime to edge out Poland and set up a meeting with hosts Ukraine for ninth place at the U16 European Championship Men.
Martynas Varnas made a lay-up with 19 seconds left in regulation to knot the scores at 67-67 and force the extra period, and Lithuania pulled clear in the final 80 seconds to secure the win.
Martynas Echodas led Lithuania with 23 points and eight rebounds while Matas Andruskevicius added 14.
There was still only one point in it when Mateusz Gawlina split a pair of free throws for Poland with 1:40 to go in overtime, making it 78-77.
But Tadas Sedekerskis then gave his team a three point lead when he got the tip-in from his own miss and, after Gawlina was off target for Poland, Andruskevicius grabbed the rebound from a Varnas miss and hit a jump-shot to put Lithuania up 82-77.
He was fouled as he did so, and hit the extra point for a lead of six with only 21 seconds left.
Szymon Walczak made two free throws for Poland but by the time he did there were only nine seconds left, and Echodas' free throw iced it for Lithuania.
Sedekerskis finished with 11 points while Julius Stoma had 10 and Varnas nine with 10 rebounds.
Marcel Ponitka led Poland with 22 points while Maciej Bender had 16 and Michal Kolenda 13.
