|Petr Cornelie entertained the crowd with his explosiveness to the basket|
France reigned supreme against the height and toughness of Bosnia and Herzegovina, winning the intriguing matchup 60-42 in their first Second Round game at the U18 European Championship on Monday.
France led for most of the contest, but were unable to put away a Bosnia and Herzegovina side led expertly from the point guard position by Adi Zahiragic and Sandro Gacic until late in the game.
After coming within six points early in the fourth quarter thanks to some slick passing from Zahiragic, a tired looking Bosnia and Herzegovina eventually crumbled under the weight of 25 team turnovers.
Missing some of their usual class with forward Damien Inglis buried on the bench due foul trouble, the French established a first half lead by doing what they do best- attack the basket. The team's first 22 points came in the paint as Cyrille Eliezer-Vanerot and Petr Cornelie provided the crowd with a number of trademark jaw-dropping dunks.
France were led by Axel Bouteille (18 points, six rebounds).
Stefan Lakic and Davor Karamatic led Bosnia and Herzegovina with 12 points each.
