|Janis Ndiba recorded her third double-double of the tournament|
The Netherlands started hot and never relented, storming past Lithuania to record an 84-52 win in classification action and condemn the 2012 U16 European Championship Women Division B champions to an immediate return in 2014.
The Dutch team blew the game open with a 17-0 run in the first quarter, with Laura Steggink notching eight successive points herself in the burst.
Laura Westerik joined the party with eight points of her own as the Netherlands scored 12 unanswered points in two minutes at the start of the second period and, though Lithuania reduced the lead to 17 early in the second half, the result was never in doubt.
Janis Ndiba led the Dutch team with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Westerik ended with 17 points and Steggink with 16, while Christy Buderman and Anne van Vlijmen each had seven assists. Laura Juskaite's 20 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals were in vain for Lithuania.
The Netherlands will play Belgium on Sunday in a final bid to avoid relegation from Division A. The loser will play in Division B in 2014, and the Dutch team will be anxious to avoid a repeat of the 46-41 loss to Belgium which they suffered in the first round.
