Ukraine nailed 10 three-pointers to pull out a 63-57 win against Germany in their classification games for 9th to 16th place encounter at the U20 European Championship Women on Friday.
The victory confirms Ukraine's sport in Division A for next season, while the Germans await a battle for survival.
The teams traded the lead throughout the second and third quarter, before Ukraine used triples from Olga Krayevska and Darya Zavidna to build a 51-42 lead.
A three-pointer from Vita Gorobets then helped them to extend their advantage to 60-49 as Ukraine preserved their lead until the final buzzer.
The victors overcame a 38-14 deficit for points in the paint, by finishing the game with 10 triples in 32 attempts. In comparison, Germany shot 2-for-11 from behind the three-point arc.
Nataliya Skorbatyuk led in victory with 13 points, Lyudmyla Naumenko had 11 points and eight rebounds, while Miriam Uro-Nile collected 10 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks.
Laura Hebecker collected 20 points and 12 rebounds in defeat.
