Poland beat Sweden 71-60 in their classification games for 9th to 16th place clash, at the U20 European Championship Women, keeping their Division A status, while Sweden go into a battle for survival.
The first half was a tale of two runs, as Sweden opened the game with a 21-9 advantage, but the Poles fought back to take a 36-35 lead into the half.
After the break, the game turned into a see-saw battle until Poland, led by Magdalena Koperwas, went on a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter to secure victory.
Outrebounded 54-42, Poland outscored Sweden in the paint 36-10, and capitalised on forcing 17 turnovers by scoring 16 fast-break points compared to Sweden's four.
Koperwas finished with 19 points, Dominika Miloszewska collected 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Dominika Owczarzak had 12 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.
Alice Nyström had a monster performance in Sweden's defeat with 19 points and 27 rebounds.
